Meat Loaf - born
Marvin Lee Aday on September 27, 1947(1947-09-27)). Here we
have some of the best picture disc artwork ever produced with
the ground breaking 1977 “Bat out of Hell”
album which to date has sold an estimated 40 million copies
worldwide and still sells about 200,000 copies per year, it
also remained for 474 weeks on the UK charts. Jim Steinman
is credited with the album cover concept, which was illustrated
by Richard Corben. In 1993 a sequel called “Bat
Out of Hell II” “ Back into Hell”
(with a cover by Michael Whelan modeled on the first one)
was released, which includes the hit single "I'd
Do Anything for Love (but I Won't Do That)",
another great picture disc but this one wasn’t released
in the same number as the 1st and is very hard to find in
mint condition. Other Meatloaf picture discs include “Dead
Ringer” which was released in 1981 and was
the second of three Meat Loaf albums written entirely by Jim
Steinman. The imagery on the cover was once again was a fantastic
piece of artwork. Other Meatloaf picture discs include;
“MODERN GIRL” &
“RUNNING A RED LIGHT”
