Iron Maiden -
Formed in East London on Christmas Day 1975 by bassist Steve
Harris, they virtually invented the Power Metal genre, and
have gone on to sell more than 80 million albums worldwide.
Maiden have always been very productive when it comes to picture
discs and their artwork really lends itself to this format.
Iron Maiden's famous mascot Eddie was created by Deryk Riggs
who also worked with the heavy metal band Gamma Ray and the
female tribute band The Iron Maidens for who he designed the
cover for their debut album using the female version of Eddie
called Edwina. The band have headlined several major events
in its career, notably Rock in Rio, Ozzfest alongside Black
Sabbath, Donington "Monsters of Rock", "Download"
Festivals and the "Reading and Leeds Festivals."
